What about the annihilation of the Canaanites, God’s enemies?                    by Jack Kettler

Was the extermination of the Canaanites in the following verses genocide as a so-called enlightened 21^st Century man say?

“But of the cities of these people, which the Lord thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth: But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.” (Deuteronomy 20:16-17)

Commenting on Deuteronomy 20:10-20, the Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary says:

“10-20. When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it—An important principle is here introduced into the war law of Israel regarding the people they fought against and the cities they besieged. With “the cities of those people which God doth give thee” in Canaan, it was to be a war of utter extermination (De 20:17, 18). But when on a just occasion, they went against other nations, they were first to make a proclamation of peace, which if allowed by a surrender, the people would become dependent [De 20:11], and in the relation of tributaries the conquered nations would receive the highest blessings from alliance with the chosen people; they would be brought to the knowledge of Israel’s God and of Israel’s worship, as well as a participation of Israel’s privileges. But if the besieged city refused to capitulate and be taken, a universal massacre was to be made of the males while the women and children were to be preserved and kindly treated (De 20:13, 14). By this means a provision was made for a friendly and useful connection being established between the captors and the captives; and Israel, even through her conquests, would prove a blessing to the nations.” (1)

“And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, ox and sheep and donkey, with the edge of the sword.” (Joshua 6:21)

From Matthew Poole’s Commentary on Joshua 6:21:

“Being commanded to do so by the sovereign Lord of every man’s life; and being informed by God before that the Canaanites were abominably wicked, and deserved the severest punishments. As for the infants, they were guilty of original sin, and otherwise at the disposal of their Creator, as the clay is in the hands of the potter; but if they had been wholly innocent, it was a great favour to them to take them away in infancy, rather than reserve them to those dreadful calamities which those who survived them were liable to.” (2)

“Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.” (1Samuel 15:3)

From Ellicott’s Commentary for English Readers on 1Samuel 15:3:

“(3) Smite Amalek, and utterly destroy . . .—For “utterly destroy” the Hebrew has the far stronger expression, “put under the ban” (cherem). Whatever was “put under the ban” in Israel was devoted to God, and whatever was so devoted could not be redeemed, but must be slain. Amalek was to be looked upon as accursed; human beings and cattle must be killed; whatever was capable of being destroyed by fire must be burnt. The cup of iniquity in this people was filled up. Its national existence, if prolonged, would simply have worked mischief to the commonwealth of nations. Israel here was simply the instrument of destruction used by the Almighty. It is vain to attempt in this and similar transactions to find materials for the blame or the praise of Israel. We must never forget that Israel stood in a peculiar relation to the unseen King, and that this nation was not unfrequently used as the visible scourge by which the All-Wise punished hopelessly hardened sinners, and deprived them of the power of working mischief. We might as well find fault with pestilence and famine, or the sword—those awful instruments of Divine justice and—though we often fail to see it now—of Divine mercy.” (3)

Introductory considerations:

Considering original sin, none of the Canaanites destroyed were sin-free; all were guilty! Therefore, their judgment was just.

Deuteronomy 20:10-20 is a section of instructions for warfare. As noted in Deuteronomy 20:12, “Now if the city will not make peace with you, but war against you, then you shall besiege it.” Verse 12 is an essential part of the context of Deuteronomy 20:10-20. The offer of peace was a general rule, with some exceptions as noted in Deuteronomy 20:16-17, Joshua 6:21, and 1Samuel 15:3.

What about the exceptions, where there was no offer of peace?

To start, let us not forget that the God of the Bible destroyed His people on several occasions, (Assyria and Babylon) and at the end of the world. At the end of the world, He promises to bring everlasting judgment upon all non-believers.

What needs to be determined before proceeding to answer the starting question?

1. The objector may a pacifist or idealistic.
2. The objector may have a different worldview.
3. The objector may be an argumentative bully or an apostate.
4. The objector may be an honest questioner.
5. Does the objector believe we live in a sinful or fallen world?   

Digging into the initial question or as may be found, questions:

The question may go deeper than God’s elimination of the Canaanites. In many cases, the question probably includes any form of temporal and eternal judgment.      

Temporal judgment can be dwelt with easily by asking an objector if they believe a child molester or murderer should be punished, even including the death penalty. Only the extreme nihilistic anarchist would disagree.

The field of objectors at this point will be narrowing down. Now we are dealing with the length of time arguments for punishment. Can anyone ever pay their debt for the crimes mentioned above? If no, this narrows down the field of objectors even more.

Possibly some objectors just do not like the idea of God executing the sentence. A disagreement like this would need to be determined by additional questions. It is ok for a government through its legal system to execute murders, but not God. In terms of the Christian worldview, God gave humanity the moral codes to convict and carry out penalties for crimes committed.      

In terms of the Christian worldview, God has ordained civil magistrates to carry out executions and penalties for various crimes, such as murder, theft, and perjury, etc.

Now back to the initial question. It may be that the questioner is against all forms of capital punishment utilizing the death penalty. If so, you have narrowed down the possible questions to just one. The objector may not admit it, but death penalty crimes and judgments occur throughout all of biblical history.

The objector may be coming from the point of view that anything God does record in the Bible is unconscionable to them. If this is the case, the burden is upon them to explicate their worldview’s allegedly superior ethical system.       

The Christian apologist by this time should have eliminated the surrounding questions to one or two basic questions or objections regarding the above passages command to kill all the Canaanites.

An example from history may be helpful:

In times of wars like World War II, many so-called innocents lose their lives during bombing campaigns and artillery assault upon population centers. When an evil leader like Adolf Hitler is accepted as their leader, in a sense, the whole nation becomes guilty of the crimes of the leader and his chosen henchmen.

In World War II the entire city of Dresden, Germany was bombed into a blazing inferno. Virtually everyone that stayed in the city lost his or her lives. Women and children were included in this. Allied generals gave the command to bomb Dresden. Does the objector have a problem from this scenario from World War II? What about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? The history of the world has been a history of war and bloodshed. In addition, inferior civilizations being conquered by stronger cultures has happened throughout history. It has been said, “War is hell.”

Answers to the initial question:

The question was about God’s punishment upon the Canaanites in Deuteronomy, Joshua, and 1Samuel.  

First, the events that happened in the land of Canaan happened during a time of war.

Second, God gave a command to his earthly regents to start a military campaign.      

Third, were the Canaanites righteous or wicked?

In modern times, wars have started over evil dictators killing and persecuting innocents in their lands. Should Hitler have been stopped or allowed to implement his Third Reich? Stopping Hitler would be included in the just war theory.

With the Canaanites and their widespread practice of child sacrifice, this indeed parallels the Nazi extermination of the Jewish people. In both cases, an intervention to stop this wickedness was justified. In the case of Hitler, an allied invasion, and in the case of the Canaanites, an attack by God’s forces, namely, Joshua and the armies of Israel.   

In closing:

The Judgment of the Canaanites by Lane Keister:

“It is a fairly common objection to the Bible and to all forms of biblical faith that a God who would order the extermination of all the Canaanites by the Israelites cannot be a loving God, and therefore cannot be any kind of god that they would want to worship.

There are a number of answers that have been posed to this question that are inadequate for anyone wishing to take the Bible seriously. One answer is that God did not prescribe the war, He simply decreed it. This falls foul of the Scriptural injunction that God gives to wipe all the Canaanites out. He commanded them to do it (though with very important exceptions, as will be noted below. The exceptions, in fact, point us in the right direction, as I will argue). Another inadequate answer is that Israel falsely attributed the command to God, but actually conquered Canaan on their own steam. Nor is it adequate to say that all forms of warfare are evil, as if there were no such thing as a just war. Christian ethicists have argued from Scripture through all the centuries of church history that there is such a thing as a just war. The question is a formidable one, and it will not do to simply wish the problem away, or explain it in such a way as does not do justice to the biblical data.

The exceptions to the genocide are, as state above, quite important. Rahab and her family were spared. Why were they spared? Because of their faith. The Gibeonites were spared. Why were they spared? They believed that the land was going to Israel, and they feared the God of Israel. They used underhanded methods to gain their lives. And yet, while there is a reproach from Joshua directed towards the Gibeonites, there is no reproach from God, interestingly. In fact, in David’s time, the Gibeonites are allowed to exact justice on the seed of Saul’s line because Saul violated the treaty made with the Gibeonites. In both cases, there was a belief (on the part of the people spared) that God’s people Israel had the right to the promised land, and that Israel’s God was the true King of all named gods. There was a measure of faith, in other words. Whether we would call that saving faith is a question that would go beyond the evidence.

But if a faith, a belief that Israel’s God was the real deal was sufficient to create an exception, then we may infer from this fact that the Canaanites, as a general rule, did not worship the one true God at all. This is well-documented in Scripture. The false gods of the Canaanites (Molech, Shamash, Baal, etc.) are mentioned over and over again. The sin of the Amorites is mentioned in a revealing way: it is something that is not yet full earlier in redemptive history (compare Genesis 15:16 with later mention of the Amorites), thus pointing to a long-suffering patience on God’s part (He could have judged them far earlier!). Sin and faith then can be seen as the central issues here. The majority of the Canaanites were unbelievers who lived extraordinarily sinful lives (Leviticus 18). The exceptions were spared!

This brings us to the question: what did the Canaanites deserve? Did they deserve life? Did they deserve heaven? No one deserves life, and no one deserves heaven. The evidence suggests that they were a very sinful people on whom God’s judgment is therefore entirely just.

The objection immediately comes to mind, however: what about the women and the children? What had they done? The evidence of Balaam and Balak in Numbers suggests that the Canaanite women actively tried to seduce the Israelite men in order to get them to worship false gods. Ok, then what about the children? Weren’t they innocent? Psalm 51 states that children are sinful from the time of conception. Not even children are innocent. Anyone who thinks otherwise has never had children. They are not the cute little innocents that we think they are, though they certainly have not had opportunity to become Jack the Ripper. The point is this: what does anyone deserve? The simple truth is this: none of us deserve a single day of life on this earth. We have no right to demand anything of God any more than the pot has the right to demand anything of the potter.

If one wants to talk about the most evil event that has ever happened in human history, we cannot look to the genocide of the Canaanites. That was God’s judgment on a wicked people. God used the judgment as simultaneously giving Canaan to His people to be the promised land. Later on, when the Israelites became terribly wicked, God did the same kind of thing: He used another nation to judge Israel. But the most evil event cannot be the genocide of Canaanites. It cannot even be the Holocaust, as horrific as that was. The most evil event in history is the crucifixion of the Lord of Glory.

God has infinite dignity. A sin against God is therefore a sin against an infinitely holy God with infinite dignity. Try this thought experiment: contemplate the differences of the consequences that a slap in the face has with regard to the following people: what would happen if you slapped a hobo on the street, a fellow citizen, a police officer, the President of the United States, and the God of the universe? The same action has drastically different consequences depending on the dignity of the person being offended. Imagine, then, the heinousness of putting to death a person who is both God and man in one person, and therefore has infinite dignity; but who is also absolutely innocent and perfect. Not only this, but the method of putting Christ to death was the most humiliating kind of death on offer in the Roman world (it was reserved for traitors to the Roman empire: Jesus Christ the most resolute non-traitor, died the traitor’s death in place of traitors). So, the most humiliating death a person could die being inflicted wrongfully on the God-Man, who was and is perfect in every way, is the most evil event in all of human history. This raises the question: why would the genocide of the Canaanites stick in our craw if the death of Jesus Christ of Nazareth does not? The truth is that God brought amazing and infinite good out of the infinite evil (the power of God is manifest in its most amazing form just here and at the resurrection of Christ from the dead) of the cross. As Joseph says of his brothers, they meant it for evil, but God meant it for good. What is the good, then, that came out of the genocide (I prefer the term “judgment” for obvious reasons!) of the Canaanites? The Canaanites were judged for their sin, while the Israelites received the promised land from God. This event, in fact, is part of the stream of the story that culminates in the very death of Jesus Christ Himself. Therefore, there seems little point in objecting to the judgment of the Canaanites, which seems just. The real question is the marvelous, amazing, and inexplicable mercy of God in sending His Son to die for us.” (4)

“To God, only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.” (Romans 16:27) And “heirs according to the promise.” (Galatians 3:28, 29)

The Islamic Laws of Sharia and the Loss of Freedom 2013 by Jack Kettler

Islam is first and foremost, a religiously held a political system. Because of its fundamental political nature, it has a law code. The Islamic legal code is called Sharia, which means “the way.” The source of the Sharia is the Koran and authoritative Hadiths. Sharia law is based upon the classification of all activity into things forbidden (haraam) and things permitted (halal).

Law based upon a republican conception of government, such as the Bill of Rights in the U.S. Constitution is anathema and offensive to Muslims. This irreconcilable offense is the reason that Muslims want to replace our banking laws with Sharia law and replace our civil law with the Sharia legal code. For this reason, Islam and the constitutional God given freedoms spelled out the U.S. Bill of Rights are completely and totally incompatible.

One of the most futile political miscalculations in recent history has been the U.S. Government’s belief that it could create Western styled democratic governments in Islamic countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq. In both countries, after helping them vote in Islamic supremacist constitutions, Christians began to be slaughtered. In Islam, when you combine democracy plus Islam, you always end up with radical or Islamic supremacy. A truly democratic process in Islamic countries will always produce governments that are committed to Jihad. Why is this? To be a good Muslim, one must follow Mohammad’s example.

The best to learn about Sharia law is to examine the actual laws. The most complete source is the “Reliance of the Traveller,” translated by Nuh Ha Mim Keller, by Amana Publications, 1994, 1232 pages. In this work, the Sharia law system is organized in an outline form.

A brief survey of Sharia laws:

1. Jihad, or “to war against all non-Muslims to establish the religion” and is the duty of every Muslim and Muslim head of state (the Caliph).

2. A percentage of Muslim charitable donations known as Zakat must go towards jihad.

3. It is mandatory to obey the commands of the Caliph, even if he is unjust.

4. A Muslim who leaves Islam (apostasy) must be killed.

5. Honor killing for offenses against Islam are permitted.

6. A Muslim will not get the death penalty if he kills a non-Muslim.

7. Sharia law does not abolish slavery. In reality it furthers it.

8. Non-Muslims are not equal to Muslims and must comply with Sharia poll tax requirements if they are to remain protected in Islamic societies. Specifically, they are forbidden to marry Muslim women, publicly display wine or pork, even reciting their own religious scriptures, or openly celebrating their religious holidays and funerals.

9. Non-Muslims are forbidden from building new churches or building them higher than mosques. A non-Muslim can be killed if he proselytizes a Muslim away from Islam.

10. It is a crime to say anything derogatory about Allah and his Prophet, or expose the contradictory points of Islam.

11. Banks must be Sharia compliant and interest is not allowed.

12. Homosexuality is punishable by death.

13. There is no age limit for marriage of girls. The marriage contract can take place anytime after birth and consummated at age 8 or 9. This is following Mohammad’s example.

14. Defiance on the part of the wife invalidates the husband’s responsibility to support her. It is also gives him permission to beat her, and keep her from leaving the home.

15. Divorce is only in the hands of the husband and be initiated by simply saying: “I divorce you.”

16. There is no mutually owned property between husband and wives and the husband’s property does not automatically go to the wife after his death.

17. A woman inherits half what a man inherits.

18. A man can have up to four wives, which is polygamy.

19. The testimony of a woman in court is half the value of a man.

20. A woman looses custody of children if she remarries.

21. A Muslim woman must cover every inch of her body with a burqa when in public.

22. It is permitted for a Muslim to lie if the purpose is for advancing Islam.

23. To prove rape, a woman must have four male witnesses.

24. Female circumcision or genitalia mutilation is widespread in Islamic countries.

25. All modern music of any kind is strictly prohibited and punishable by Islamic justice which can include, being murdered. Consider: ‘Allah Mighty and Majestic sent me as a guidance and mercy to believers and commanded me to do away with musical instruments. Flutes, strings, crucifixes, and the affair of the pre-Islamic period of ignorance. On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will pour molten lead into the ears of whoever sits listening to a songstress. Song makes hypocrisy grow in the heart as water does herbage. “This community will experience the swallowing up of some people by the earth. Metamorphosis of some into animals, and being rained upon with stones.” Someone asked, “When will this be, O Messenger of Allah?” and he said, “When songstresses and musical instruments appear and wine is held to be lawful, There will be peoples of my Community who will hold fornication, silk, wine, and musical instruments to be lawful.”‘ (Umdat al-salik r40.0) In addition, ‘The Prophet said that Allah commanded him to destroy all the musical instruments, idols, crosses and all the trappings of ignorance.’ (Hadith Qudsi 19:5)

26. Dogs are forbidden in Islam unless having a clear utilitarian purpose. Bukhari 3:515: Narrated Abu Huraira: “I heard Allah’s Apostle saying; “Angels (of Mercy) do not enter a house wherein there is a dog or a picture of a living creature (a human being or an animal).”” Malik’s Muwatta, Book 54, Number 54.5.13: “Malik related from Nafi from Abdullah Ibn Umar that the Messenger of God ordered all dogs (other than sheepdogs or hunting dogs) to be killed.” Hanbal 4/85; 5/54: The Messenger of God said: “You shall kill all black dogs; because they are devils.”

Animal lovers are shocked at Mohammad’s view of what we in the civilized world know as “mans best friend.” Why did Mohammad, the so-called powerful apostle of Allah have such a pathological fear of dogs? Probably because all dogs he encountered barked and growled at him because they could sense his evil nature.

After looking at this very brief sampling of aspects of Sharia law, it should not be difficult to see that the Christian West and Islamic law are irreconcilably incompatible.

Some alarming stats from the May 20, 2013 New American magazine article titled What A Billion Muslims Really Think:

When Muslims reach 2-3% of the population they start effectively proselytizing for converts, most observably in prisons where there convince criminals that their crimes were justified since they were against infidels.

When Muslims 5% of the population they begin exerting enormous pressure on business, schools and cities to accommodate them in observance of their dietary laws.

When Muslims reach 10% there will increase in rioting (example burning cars in Paris, France or death threats against the makers of legitimate political cartoons, Amsterdam, Holland).

When Muslims reach 20% of the population a country will experience major flash Muslim rioting with non-Muslims and Christians and Jews being murdered.

When Muslims reach 40% of the population a country will start experiencing Muslim militias attacking their opponents.

When Muslims reach 50% of the population or higher their will be out in the open genocide of non-Muslims.

What does the Christian West do?

There is a parallel of sorts in the USA that might be used as a template for action. The Ku klux Klan.

After the Civil War ended, the KKK arose from the ashes of war as an advocacy group for the disenfranchised white voter in the south. But it quickly became a terrorist organization bent on taking out revenge on the south’s newly freed black population for having lost the war. It got so bad that even one of the original organizers, C.S. Cavalry General Nathan Bedford Forrest, denounced the organization and quit it in disgust.

But as the late 1800s rolled on and the south began to re-enter the Union as full partners in government, the KKK began to lose steam and prominence. For a time it subsided. But as the 20th century neared, it re-emerged and this time became a nationwide and powerful force taking on the flavor of religious, civic and racial duty. The KKK became invested in government and claimed millions of members nation wide.

In the 1920s, however, it became too much for a liberty loving country to allow the KKK to any longer exist. In Indiana, the entire state government was scandalized by their fealty to Indiana’s Klan leader who had raped and beaten his secretary on a train trip. Violence against and frequent lynching of southern blacks became so pervasive that Congress finally acted and banned the Klan. The organization collapsed never again to reclaim the power and prominence it once had.

Now, the KKK has always based its precepts on Christianity, as well as racial identity. It also reacted with violence, rallies, death threats and killing when it was threatened. It careened far away from being a mere “idea” or religious theology and became a terrorist organization. And it became a terrorist organization even though literally millions of Americans that belonged to or identified with the Klan were not themselves violent, evil, or dangerous citizens.

The leadership of the Klan supported violence. The leadership preached violence. The leadership planned and fomented it. Therefore, it had to go because it became a danger to every law-abiding citizen, whether they agreed with the racial and religious concepts the Klan espoused or not.

Islam has become the KKK of the 21st century. The sooner we awake to this truth and take steps to ban the religion, or somehow curtail its pernicious influence the better. The west is going to have to put sever restrictions on Islamic Mosques and public display of Islam. Further, devout Muslims should not be allowed to hold public office (though it certainly should not become a racial issue — sins of the father should not be visited upon the sons).

This is no religious purge as in centuries past. In the past religions were banned to be replaced by the state sponsored sect and believers of the banned religion were mistreated, tortured, unduly taxed, and terrorized. This is absolutely not the model the west would follow by banning aspects of Islam today. No religion is replacing Islam and no one is suggesting that Muslims be mistreated. But the creed to which they hold is fast becoming the most dangerous one in the world today. It is a fine line that we walk to consider banning Islam, but the safety of society is at risk not to do so.

This is not an easy conclusion at which to arrive. But if we continue to turn a blind eye to the danger that Islam presents to the west, we are signing our own death warrants.

The KKK was put down in the USA and made powerless for the same reason. Communism was destroyed for the same reason, as well. Islam is a danger to the world.

Unfortunately, it is just that simple.

If the idea that Islam — not ‘extreme’ or ‘radical’ or ‘militant’ Islam, but Islam as its founder created and intended it — is a dangerous, totalitarian political ideology of conquest, then we as a country must be prepared to go beyond individual communities banning a mosque here or there. We must be prepared for a comprehensive national response that deals with Islam and its pernicious and inseparable counterpart, Shariah law. A patchwork system as proposed by Herman Cain, with individual communities acting on their own, while well intended, would surely fail. A national response is not only practical, but vitally necessary.

To that end, a proposed constitutional amendment has already been proposed, an amendment that would acknowledge and identify Islam not as merely a ‘religion’, but as an enemy ideology, an amendment that strips away Islam’s heretofore First Amendment protections. Imagine the following to the US Constitution:

Be it resolved that the following Amendment to the Constitution be adopted:

Article I

The social/political/ideological system known around the world as Islam is not recognized in the United States as a religion.

The practice of Islam is therefore not protected under the 1st Amendment as to freedom of religion and speech.

Article II

As representatives of Islam around the world have declared war, and committed acts of war, against the United States and its democratic allies around the world, Islam is hereby declared an enemy of the United States and its practice within the United States is now prohibited.

Article III

Immediately upon passage of this Amendment all Mosques, schools and Muslim places of worship and religious training are to be closed, converted to other uses, or destroyed. Proceeds from sales of such properties may be distributed to congregations of said places but full disclosure of all proceeds shall be made to an appropriate agency as determined by Congress. No compensation is to be offered by Federal or State agencies for losses on such properties however Federal funding is to be available for the demolishing of said structures if other disposition cannot be made.

The preaching of Islam in Mosques, Schools, and other venues is prohibited. The subject of Islam may be taught in a post high school academic environment provided that instruction include discussion of Islam’s history of violence, conquest, and its ongoing war on democratic and other non-Islamic values.

The preaching or advocating of Islamic ideals of world domination, destruction of America and democratic institutions, jihad against Judaism, Christianity and other religions, and advocating the implementation of Sharia law shall in all cases be punishable by fines, imprisonment, deportation, and death as prescribed by Congress. Violent expressions of these and other Muslim goals, or the material support of those both in the United States and around the world who seek to advance these Islamic goals shall be punishable by death.

Muslims will be denied the opportunity to immigrate to the United States.

Article IV

Nothing in this amendment shall be construed as authorizing the discrimination against, of violence upon, nor repudiation of the individual rights of those Americans professing to be Muslim. The individual right of conscience is sacrosanct and the practice of Islam within the privacy of home and self is strictly protected to the extent that such individuals do not violate the prohibitions described in Article III.

Like it or not, this would certainly address any Muslim appeal to the First Amendment. But while admittedly imperfect, and probably politically impossible at the present time, Amendment 28 does give us an idea of how far Americans will probably have to go to protect their freedom. Of course the leftists and Muslims will cry foul, and more. But what if we don’t act and Islam is allowed to continue its ascendancy in America? What if there’s 10,000 mosques, 20 million Muslims and enclaves of shariah law slash ‘no go areas’ in most major U.S. cities, as is now the case in Europe? Would it then be easier or more difficult to act in our self defense? What are the costs if we fail to act now, or soon?

Herman Cain merely said what a whole lot of smart people have been thinking (and saying) for a very long time. Amendment 28 is an idea whose time has come.

There is Hope:

True freedom comes only from accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Christianity is a world and life view which produced Western Civilization with its countless freedoms and laws which protected these freedoms. The advance of the gospel cannot be stopped. The universal Abrahamic promises of victory flow right into the new covenant of Christ. These promises are fulfilled through the preaching and teaching of the gospel.

There are important Messianic promises to consider:

“Why Do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his annointed saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh, the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy posssession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron, thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him” Psalm 2.

“All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the LORD’s: and he is governor among the nations” Psalm 22:27,28.

“He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him, and his enemies shall lick the dust. The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him” Psalm 72:8-11.

“The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies” Psalm 110:1,2.

In conclusion, we are in for a tough battle. We must not be faint of heart. We must stay vigilant and raise the banner of Christ’s Lordship high! Information is key in fighting this spirit of anti-Christ that is Mohammedism. Our politicians need to asked if their course of action in funding rebels in the Middle East will result in the slaughter of more Christians. The Mad Man from the Desert 2013 by Jack Kettler

The founder of Mohammadism, Mohammad claimed that he heard voices which were later recorded and became what is known as the Qur’an. If Mohammad heard voices, was he a Madman or a prophet?

A cause for concern, when a religious leader claims to have heard voices, this alone should cause a red flag to be raised among seekers of religious faith. Even more alarming is when a religious leader after hearing voices, says he is doing what the voices have told him to do. In Muhammad’s case, he claims that he heard voices and the voices he heard were supposedly from the Archangel Gabriel. Mohammad then acted upon the messages he heard.

It is interesting that no one saw the angel Gabriel other than Mohammad unless he appeared in human form and then they had to take his word for it that the person whom they had seen was Gabriel appearing in human form. This sounds and smells a little fishy and very similar to Mormon founder, Joseph Smith, claiming to see an angel that gave him golden plates. Like Mohammad, no one else saw Smith’s angelic messenger. Both Mohammadism and Mormonism require their followers to take the word of their founder as absolute truth without any objective verification.

Since no one else saw the Archangel Gabriel, it is safe to conclude that Mohammad was hearing voices. If per chance he did see an angel, I would say it was case of what the apostle Paul spoke of when he said: “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light” 2 Corinthians 11:14.

An observation about Mohammad’s revelation:

A number of Mohammad’s revelations were revelations of convenience. They were of a self-justifying nature after his foul-ups that necessitated Allah to bail him out in the eyes of his followers. For example, in the Qur’an 4:3, Muslim men are told they can marry up to four wives. It is a fact that Muhammad had more than four wives. Why did Muhammad have more wives? Luckily for Muhammad, he received a special revelation from Allah in the Qur’an 33:50 which allowed him extra special rights, like the right to marry more women than others. This is just one example of Muhammad receiving revelations to justify his contradictory life style. These revelations of convenience should in and of themselves cause followers of Mohammad to reevaluate their acceptance of Mohammad as a prophet of Allah.

Mohammad said the angel Gabriel spoke to him. Are there other explanations as to what could account for the voices Mohammad heard? It is possible some of Mohammad’s revelations were the result of delirium cause by heat exhaustion. Mental health professionals commonly diagnose, the hearing voices as a symptom of medical illness. Auditory hallucinations are a key sign of schizophrenia. David Berkowitz claimed to have heard voices, he did what the voices said and was known as the “Son of Sam” killer.

Next, we will consider the work of two scholars who have analyzed Mohammad. I will summarize their thoughts:

First, Dr. Ali Sina, is an ex-Muslim and founder of Faith Freedom International. We can sum up his beliefs about Muhammad with the following description:

Muhammad was a narcissist, a paedophile, a mass murderer, a terrorist, a misogynist, a lecher, a cult leader, a madman, a rapist, a torturer, an assassin and a looter.

Second, Dr. Masud Ansari has an important analysis of Mohammad:

Dr. Masud Ansari, B.A., M.A., Ph. D., D.C.H., F.C.H., holds a B.A. in law, an M.A. in International Relations from the University of London, and three doctorate degrees, two in political science, one from the Tehran University, the Second from the George Washington University, and the third in hypnotherapy from the American Pacific University has studied the life of Mohammad. Dr. Masud has psychoanalyzed Muhammad.

From Dr. Masud’s book, we can reiterate his conclusion when he calls Muhammad:

“the perfect personification of a psychopath in power.”

What does the follower of Mohammad have to do to be a faithful adherent of Islam? The Muslim is to follow the example of the Mohammad:

How does a Muslim know how to be a Muslim? By following Mohammad as an example. It is impossible for someone to be a Muslim and not consider Mohammad as the example to imitate.

What does the Qur’an say:

Qur’an 8:24 “O you who believe! Answer Allah (by obeying Him) and As His Messenger (obeying him) when he calls you to that which will give you life.”

Qur’an 33:21 “He demonstrated good examples in all aspects of life, Allah says: ‘You have indeed in the Apostle of Allah a beautiful pattern of (conduct) for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day and who engages much in the praise of Allah.’

Qur’an 48:29 “Mohammed is God’s apostle.  Those who follow him are harsh to the unbelievers but merciful to one another.”

The Qur’an insists that Mohammad’s example is be followed!

Mohammad relates the message he heard from voices concerning relations to people who do not agree with him and do not believe in him:

Qur’an 9:5 “Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”

Qur’an 9:29 “Fight those who do not believe until they all surrender, paying the protective tax in submission.”

Qur’an 8:39 “So fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief ) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world).”

Qur’an 9:123 “Fight the unbelievers around you, and let them find harshness in you.”

Qur’an 47:4 “When you clash with the unbelieving Infidels in battle (fighting Jihad in Allah’s Cause), smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them. At length, when you have thoroughly subdued them, bind them firmly, making (them) captives. Thereafter either generosity or ransom (them based upon what benefits Islam) until the war lays down its burdens. Thus are you commanded by Allah to continue carrying out Jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam.”

Qur’an 8:7 “Allah wished to confirm the truth by His words: ‘Wipe the infidels out to the last.'”

Qur’an 8:39 “So, fight them till all opposition ends and the only religion is Islam.”

Qur’an 8:59 “The infidels should not think that they can get away from us. Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them. They are your enemy and Allah’s enemy.”

Qur’an 5:33 “The punishment for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive after corruption, making mischief in the land is murder, execution, crucifixion, the cutting off of hands and feet on opposite sides, or they should be imprisoned. That is their degradation and disgrace in this world. And a great torment of an awful doom awaits them in the hereafter. Except for those who repent (and become Muslims) before you overpower them and they fall into your control.”

Qur’an 9:5 “When the sacred forbidden months for fighting are past, fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, torture them, and lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”

Qur’an 5:17 “Verily they are disbelievers and infidels who say, ‘The Messiah, son of Mary, is God.'”

Qur’an 5:51 “Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends. They are but friends and protectors to each other.”

In contrast to the Mohammad, Jesus said: “But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you;” Matthew 5:44.

At this point the reader should watch the movie, “Fitna.”

Mohammad’s beliefs on women and equality:

Qur’an 4:3 “If you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with orphans, marry women of your choice who seem good to you, two or three or four; but if you fear that you shall not be able to do justice (to so many), then only one, or (a slave) that you possess, that will be more suitable. And give the women their dower as a free gift; but if they, of their own good pleasure, remit any part of it to you, eat it with enjoyment, take it with right good cheer and absorb it (in your wealth).”

Qur’an 4:11 “Allah directs you in regard of your Children’s (inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females…. These are settled portions ordained by Allah.”

Qur’an 2:282 “And get two witnesses out of your own men. And if there are not two men (available), then a man and two women [a man is worth two women, and one man is always needed], such as you agree for witnesses, so that if one of them (two women) errs, the other can remind her.”

Qur’an 33:59 “Prophet! Tell your wives and daughters and all Muslim women to draw cloaks and veils all over their bodies (screening themselves completely except for one or two eyes to see the way). That will be better.”

Qur’an 4:15 “If any of your women are guilty of lewdness, take the evidence of four witnesses from amongst you against them; if they testify, confine them to houses until death [by starvation] claims them.”

Qur’an 24:34 “Force not your slave-girls to whoredom (prostitution) if they desire chastity, that you may seek enjoyment of this life. But if anyone forces them, then after such compulsion, Allah is oft-forgiving.”

Qur’an 24:6 “And for those who launch a charge against their wives, accusing them, but have no witnesses or evidence, except themselves; let the testimony of one of them be four testimonies, (swearing four times) by Allah that he is the one speaking the truth.”

Qur’an (2:282) – Establishes that a woman’s testimony is worth only half that of a man’s in court.”

Qur’an (24:4) – “And those who accuse free women then do not bring four witnesses (to adultery), flog them…”

Qur’an (24:13) – “Why did they not bring four witnesses of it? But as they have not brought witnesses they are liars before Allah.”

Qur’an (2:223) – “Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will…” There is no such thing as rape in marriage, as a man is permitted unrestricted sexual access to his wives.

Mohammad’s views on women are reprehensible! The Biblical view of women and basic God given rights is in stark contrast to Mohammad’s views. What could account for Mohammad’s misogynistic attitude towards women? In all probability, Mohammad did not have any positive relationships as a young person in his life with women. His own mother if he even knew her must not have showed him any loving care or nurturing. In addition to his fallen sinful nature, something psychologically happened to Mohammad to make him have such a horrible view of women, seeing them as nothing more than temptresses and potential adulteresses and sex objects to please men.

Dr. Ali Sina brilliantly sums up the plight of the Muslim women in this world and the next:

“It seems women in Islam are screwed in this world and screwed in the next. No pun intended!”

At this point the reader should watch the movie “Submission” to see how the followers of Mohammad treat their women. Submission Part One and Submission Part Two

In addition, the reader should be aware of the practice of female genital mutilation, also known as female circumcision, which involves partial or total removal of the external female genitalia, and is practiced by Muhammadans around the world in order to prevent women from having pleasure during sexual relations. Supposedly this barbaric practice will keep the women from becoming harlots or adulteresses.

Mohammad’s belief about the next life after death:

Qur’an 56:13 “A multitude of those from among the first, and a few from the latter, (will be) on couch-like thrones woven with gold and precious stones. Reclining, facing each other. Round about them will (serve) boys of perpetual (freshness), of never ending bloom, with goblets, jugs, and cups (filled) with sparkling wine. No aching of the head will they receive, nor suffer any madness, nor exhaustion. And with fruits, any that they may select: and the flesh of fowls, any they may desire. And (there will be) Hur (fair females) with big eyes, lovely and pure, beautiful ones, like unto hidden pearls, well-guarded in their shells. A reward for the deeds.”

Qur’an 56:33 “Unending, and unforbidden, exalted beds, and maidens incomparable. We have formed them in a distinctive fashion and made them virgins, loving companions matched in age, for the sake of those of the right hand.”

Qur’an 37:40 “Fruits, Delights; they will be honored in the Gardens of Pleasure, on thrones facing one another. Round them will be passed a cup of pure white wine, delicious to the drinkers, free from ghoul (hurt), nor shall you be made mad or exhausted thereby. And with them will be Qasirat-at-Tarf (virgin females), restraining their glances (desiring none but you), with big, beautiful eyes. As if they were (sheltered) eggs, preserved.”

Mohammad’s heaven is Fleshly, Carnality Unleashed!

A look at some identifiable characteristics of Mohammmadism:

1. When Muhammad was fifty years in age he married a girl (Aisha) who was just six years old. Mohammad had sexual relations with this girl when she was nine years old.

In contrast, the White-Slave Traffic Act, better known as the Mann Act, is a United States law. Although the law was created to stop forced sexual slavery of women, the most common use of the Mann Act was to prosecute men for having sex with under-age females.

Consider the following and understand why Mohammadans are so violent. It is because as seen previously, they are commanded to follow Mohammad’s example:

2. Muhammad initiates and leads in the massacre of 800 Jewish men who had surrendered themselves. The women and children were distributed among the victorious Muslims as slaves. This is shocking

The following from Islamic writings, prove this horrific incident did happen:

25 Allah turned back the unbelievers in a state of rage, having not won any good, and Allah spared the believers battle. Allah is, indeed, Strong and Mighty. 26 And He brought those of the People of the Book who supported them from their fortresses and cast terror into their hearts, some of them you slew and some you took captive. 27 And he bequeathed to you their lands, their homes and their possessions, together with land you have never trodden. Allah has power over everything. (Majid Fakhry, An Interpretation of the Qur’an, NYUP, 2004).

He then killed their men and distributed their women, children and property among the Muslims, but some of them came to the Prophet and he granted them safety, and they embraced Islam. He exiled all the Jews from Medina. They were the Jews of Bani Qainuqa’, the tribe of ‘Abdullah bin Salam and the Jews of Bani Haritha and all the other Jews of Medina.

Quran mentions this incident briefly in two ayas 33.26-27:

Many ye slew, and many ye made prisoners…And Allah gave you their lands, their houses, and their goods and women, and of a land which ye had not frequented (before). And Allah has power over all things.

From three Islamic Hadiths about this butchery:

Al-Tabari VIII:38:

“The Messenger of Allah commanded that all of the Jewish men and boys who had reached puberty should be beheaded. Then the Prophet divided the wealth, wives, and children of the Banu Qurayza Jews among the Muslims.”

Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 362:

Narrated Ibn Umar:

Prophet then killed their men and distributed their women, children and property among the Muslims…

“Sirat e Rasulullah” by Ibn Ishaq, p. 464:

After 800-900 male adults of Bani Quraiza were beheaded in batches, and thrown in trenches dug in Madina, the apostle divided their property, wives and children as booty… He took Rayhana d. Amr b. Khunafa for himself.

In contrast, the Scriptures say: “You shall not murder” Exodus 20:13.

3. Stoning women for adultery. In Mohammadism, the women has to provide four witnesses of good character to defend herself when raped against the charge of adultery.

In contrast, the Westminster Confession of Faith, Chapter XIX, Of the Law of God, says regarding particular laws of Israel: “He gave sundry judicial laws, which expired together with the State of that people; not obliging any other now, further than the general equity thereof may require.”

4. Muhammad supported the use of slavery. The slavery of blacks today is widespread in Islamic countries, particularly in the Sudan.

In contrast, Jesus said: “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets” Matthew 7:12.

5. Muhammad told his followers to raid non-believers for profit.

In contrast, The Eighth Commandment is recorded in Exodus 20:15 and says: “You shall not steal.”

6. Muhammadan teaching says : “Whoever insults a prophet, kill him.”

In contrast, Jesus said: “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust” Matthew 5:43-45.

7. Muhammadan teachings say: “Whoever leaves Islam, kill him.”

In contrast, we are told to pray for people’s repentance.

8. Under Mohammadan law, the testimony of a woman is worth half that of a man.

In contrast, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus” Galatians 3:28.

9. Muhammad boasted that he had been “made victorious through terror.”

In contrast, Jesus was victorious in His suffering, death and resurrection to redeem a people for the Father.

10. Muhammad declared that he had been ordered to make war on non-believers until the whole world was converted to Islam.

In contrast, Christ’s kingdom is advance by preaching the gospel.

11. It is said numerous times in the Koran, that Muslims must follow the example of Muhammad in every detail.

In contrast, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” Philippians 2:5.

12. Any suspected defamation of Muhammad, cause Muslims to riot and kill. We see this time and time again!

In contrast, Jesus said: “But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you” Matthew 5:44.

Was Mohammad a prophet? Consider how Biblical Prophets Exalt God and Not Themselves!

The self-exaltation of Muhammad is completely out of sync with prophets in the Bible. Why? A true prophet of God exhibits humility while exalting God and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ and not himself.

What examples do we see in the Scriptures about God’s messengers and humility?

“Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts” Isaiah 6:5.

“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” Romans 12:3.

“For if a man thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another” Galatians 6:3-4.

“If any man thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord” I Corinthians 14:37

The closing of the canon of Scripture in the 1st Century by the Lord God is a fact. See my The Closing of the Canon of Scripture. In light of this, Mohammad’s or any one else’s so-called revelation after the closing of the canon is false! Mohammad’s revelations are false since they contradict previous established revelation.

Unfortunately, many individuals in high places including both spiritual and political have announced their ignorance regarding Mohammad’s political and military enterprise which continues to the present day. Something to consider; has Islam been hijacked by a few radicals, or has Mohammad deceived all of his followers?

A non-Muslim in an Islamic society is referred to as a dhimmi. This is a second class status which compels the dhimmi to submit to aspects of Sharia law. A voluntary Dhimmi in the non-Islamic Western world reality should be referred to as a Dimwit.

At this point the reader should the consult the Coughlin Report on Jihad.

Stephen Collins Coughlin, a Major in military intelligence was drummed out of the military over his thesis contained in his report about what was fueling Islamic violence. The current leaders of the U.S. Military are now actively pursuing voluntary Dhimmi status in hopes of pleasing followers of Mohammad and make them less violent. In reality, they are Dimwhits. This is seen clearly in the recent Ft. Hood shootings by a follower of Mohammad. Many of the U.S. Military leaders are acting as Dhimmis when decided to call the Ft. Hood shootings as a case of work place violence so as no to offend followers of Mohammad.

What would happen if Mohammad tried to start his political military enterprise in America? More than likely, “Home Land Security” would want to talk with him. What would happen if Mohammad carried out one of his military expeditions against Americans unwilling to agree with messages coming from the voices he heard? No doubt he would be tried with murder in the first degree and end up in the slammer. It is possible a shrew attorney could argue the insanity defense because Mohammad was acting on voices that he claimed to have heard, in which case he would end up in the “Nut House.”

In conclusion, Mohammad and his teachings are the complete and total antithesis of the Lord Jesus Christ and His teaching. Mohammadism represents the spirit of anti-Christ. The only hope for the followers of Mohammad is in the Christian gospel. Jesus is the Lamb of God and died to save sinners. If the follower of Mohammad trusts in Christ’s redeeming work, their sins will be forgiven and they can enter into eternal glory as an adopted son or daughter of God.
